Matt Brenna


Matt has a degree in music from Alaska Pacific University and performs regularly around the state with his band, Big Fat Buddha.

Luisa Yoter

Luisa studied music at UAA while getting her degree in anthropology, and has been an instructor for several years with the Alaska Folk Arts Camp. She teaches guitar, bass, ukulele and piano.

Rose Fitch

Rose has a degree in music education from Frostburg State University. She’s been teaching guitar, piano and violin in Anchorage since 1994.

Joe Hansen

Joe is a former student here who now has a degree in music from UAA. He teaches guitar in all styles and also beginning piano.

Carrie Gruhn

Carrie’s first guitar was a $25 special bought by her dad from Safeway. She’s been teaching for 15 years and hopes soon to finish a long-planned CD of original songs she’s written.

Forest Wilson


Forest is a music major at UAA and guitarist with several local bands. He’s been teaching guitar for 6 years, as well as bass, mandolin, dobro and ukulele.

Jeff Flannery

Jeff has been a performer and teacher for 20 years, playing with everything from symphony orchestras to nationally touring rock and country bands.

Jonathan Robinson

Jonathan is a graduate of the Armed Forces School of Music. He toured for 8 years with the U.S. Army Band and has been active as a worship music leader. He teaches guitar, bass and piano.
